Abstract

Ever since the lifting of the ban on the maritime trade in 1840, the age-old natural economic structure of China was shattered, while the commodity economy began to be developed rapidly. Until the late nineteenth and the early twentieth century, the national industrial and commercial enterprises which were featured by capitalism had occupied a vital position in the social and economic life.
