CIT-Workflow: An Elastic Cloud Workflow Service

Abstract

Workflow has been applied extensively in enterprises and the business processes managed by workflow systems range from office automation to production activities. Therefore, workflow systems are becoming a common IT service for enterprises. With the development of cloud computing, we can make use of resources provided by cloud computing companies through a “pay-as-go” business model. Workflow systems can also be deployed to the cloud computing environment to offer workflow services to a large amount of users. This paper presents an elastic cloud workflow service, which can automatically scale up and down according to the system’s needs dynamically.
