Abstract

Ensuring fail-proof security for the group keys in pairwise key distribution is one of the challenging problems in wire less sensor networks. The proposed system introduces an algorithm for ensuring an efficient and secure group key management in the area of wireless sensor networks. The system is called multitier key distribution that not only secures group communication, but also secures the data aggregation in wireless sensor networks. Supported by simple and yet robust empirical and mathematical modelling, the proposed system offers a novelty in key distribution and management techniques for large-scale wireless sensor networks to resist the majority of potential threats. The outcome of the study was evaluated with the most recent work in a similar direction to show that the technique offers less time and space complexity in ensuring a robust key management technique.
