Abstract
This chapter provides a narrative of my experience as a psychotherapist/psychoanalyst, a parent, and a professor in a doctoral program in clinical psychology, with clinical and personal examples provided as illustrations. Looking back, I begin to see that my professional life has focused on promoting reflective thought and imagination in the hope of strengthening and deepening the personal lives of myself and others.
