Abstract

Ty, a lithe wide receiver with a concussion in his past, who identifies as Ethiopian- and Jewish-American, is a student I have known since his first year of college. From the start, Ty’s in-class verbal responses were strong, and he sometimes expressed enthusiasm for the ideas we talked about in our first year seminar.
