Water & Weather

  • Chapter
STEPS to STEM

Abstract

In this chapter, students focus on the big idea of “Water & Weather.” In the first set of STEPS, teachers facilitate learning experiences about osmosis, the melting point of ice, and the concept of density, as well as measure the amount of rainfall. Students then solve the problem: What different materials could be added to water to allow identical objects to float at different levels in a tall glass cylinder?
