Abstract

This chapter analyzes some of the material-discursive forces at play in Stephanie’s girlhood that shaped and continue to shape her subjective orientation toward teacher education theory and pedagogy. A visual portrayal of the randomness of growing up in a trailer park in the Midwest of the United States combined with the power of the already-existing material and discursive world, this chapter links the “personal” to the “political” in very explicit ways.
