Abstract

Research into the cognitive process of teachers has become a promising field of scientific inquiry since the 1970s. A crucial research program on teachers’ thinking was led by Shavelson (1973), who claimed that one of the basic skills is decision making: “Any teaching act is the result of decision, whether conscious or unconscious” (Shavelson, 1973: 144).
