Abstract

This chapter extends the discussion on whiplash and concentrates on back pain, especially low back pain. Low back pain is not in itself a specific illness but is one of the most common conditions encountered in the field of injury and disability. It is a frequent reason for inability to work and around one-third of those with back problems report that the condition was due to an injury.1
