Abstract

Substance use disorder refers to dependence or pathological overuse of a drug that leads to clinically significant impairment or distress. It is characterised by interpersonal, work, family or school problems. A helpful place to start our view of this in relation to injury is to consider some examples of responses to the routine questions from a medical questionnaire. I use this questionnaire routinely in my practice.
