Abstract

Many Chinese-born women scientists and engineers in this study were extremely motivated and goal-driven. The most obvious indication of their competitiveness was the fact that they were constantly looking for opportunities to prepare for and advance their careers. However, the path is a windy and frustrating one. This chapter delineates the reasons for this and proposes some solutions to the problem.
