Abstract

Media contribute to the formation of the current collective imagination and play an essential role in a democratic society. Although Phipps (2001), the former moderator of the United Church who has been involved in education for social justice, demanded greater relevancy and inspiration from the media, Welton (2001) challenged adult educators to work to foster global solidarity.
