Abstract

I have argued that there is a need for new approaches to motivation and emotion that take account of the dynamic nature of experience, which can provide sound theoretical underpinnings to the integrated study of personality, motivation and emotion. By examining new frameworks, not only can new light be shed on current results that are perplexing, but new insights can be generated. In addition, new theoretical perspectives will in turn generate new methods and approaches to research that can push the boundaries compared to the current repertoire of approaches.
