Establishing Professional Practice through a New Teacher Support Group

Abstract

Teaching should not be done in isolation, especially as a new teacher. The New Teacher Support Group (NTSG) is an example of one induction program designed to reduce the isolation that is frequently reported by new science teachers. In the NTSG, new teachers engage in conversations regarding their successes and challenges in and outside of the classroom.
