Abstract

In the last two decades recognition of prior learning (RPL) has emerged as a widespread practice as well as field of research around the world (cf. Evans, 2000; Andersson & Harris, 2006; Harris et al., 2011, 2014; Andersson et al., 2013). Generally, RPL signifies practices where people have their prior learning and experiences – from work and from other contexts – identified, assessed, and documented, normally through formal credentials.
