Abstract
As outlined in the introduction to this book, its genesis was a workshop funded through the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia in August 2013, to explore the concept of ‘vulnerable young people’. The focus of both the workshop and this book is the way this concept plays out in policy, practice and research. It made sense to ensure young people themselves were part of the workshop as well.
