Abstract

In Chapter 1, I encouraged the reader to read and think what it would mean if transcendent teacher learner relationships were commonplace, or even if transcendence was the standard to which all teacher learner relationships aspired. My intent was for the reader to consider where such relationships could lead if they were to become commonplace and to ponder the implications of thoroughly transformative encounters for both teacher and learner.
