Abstract
The six novels that were the focus of this study were written in the United States, Canada, and Afghanistan. The characters were diverse in terms of race, religion, sexual orientation, and gender. We chose novels that we both enjoyed and novels that we felt represented a variety of aspects of transformative learning. In this section, we provide synopses of the six novels.
