Abstract
Most of the clients that I write about have experienced high levels of trauma at early ages. A life experience becomes traumatic when a person cannot integrate the emotions, bodily sensations and/or thoughts that result from a frightening, life threatening or shocking experience. This means that they have little or no knowledge of how to calm themselves when faced with overwhelming thoughts or feelings.
