Abstract
All too many teachers in the UK have suffered ‘whole school’ Continuing Professional Development (CPD) days, where a highly paid consultant is brought in to cover the latest fad in ‘target setting’ or ‘Health and Safety regulations’, and the costs are justified by insisting that all members of staff must attend.
