Abstract
In keeping with how most ethnographic studies proceed, I decided to start mine with an extended period of observation. I trailed the class wherever it went, into both formal and informal (the gym and the playground during recess time) settings. My objectives were to understand the nature, as well as the format, of teaching and learning, and the processes by which these were achieved.
