Abstract
Learning generally involves speech. Teachers communicate with students verbally and students demonstrate what they have learned using spoken language. Typically, teachers talk more than two-thirds of the time, with the remainder of time being spent on individual students answering questions posed by the teacher (Nuthall, 1997).
