Echoing Contexts

Theorising Voice and Voicing Theories

Echoes

Abstract

This chapter draws on Taylor and Robinson’s (2009) problematisations of theoretical notions of power based on radical pedagogy and humanist and progressivist education that are prevalent in student voice discussions. Taylor and Robinson propose that postmodernism is a more productive lens to look at the workings of power, the understanding of voice, the construction of identities and the value attributed to difference.
