Abstract

In this response chapter I address the following key themes from Dr. Ambrose’s chapter on the Roeper School within the context of 21st-century trends and issues: The Prevalence and Persistence of Macroproblems: “Examples of macroproblems include the aforementioned issue of climate change; exploitative socioeconomic systems that generate and sustain gross inequality; and the troubling erosion of democracy, which is caused by colonization and manipulation of the governance process by powerful corporate interests and their lobbyists in many nations worldwide (Hacker & Pierson, 2005; Wolin, 2008)” (Ambrose, this volume, p. —).
