Abstract

It is incredibly important to get to know your students. In fact, one could argue that a failure in this realm might block your ability to be a truly effective educator in the classroom. Getting to know your students is essential for four reasons. First, one of the first jobs of a teacher at the start of a class or academic year is to get a clear understanding of her students’ abilities and skills, as well as their deficits and struggles.
