Abstract
My work with student teachers is grounded in eight years of classroom teaching, primarily in grades one-four in elementary schools in rural Alberta, Canada. My Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in elementary education at the University of Alberta included two 39-hour courses in literacy; one in reading and the other in writing.
