Abstract

It all started in May 2000 when I crossed the border of Russia for the first time in my adult life to participate in a seminar on religious education at Kappel (Switzerland). I was invited by Walter Sennhäuser, a leader of RE-Network – an organization active at that time in building cultural bridges between Eastern and Western academic societies. There I met John Hull who led the seminar, and who changed in a few days not only my vision of the proper ways of teaching religion but also my view on the pedagogy as a whole.
