Abstract

As a young boy of about 9 years old I used to accompany my mother in weekly Wednesday-evening services in our church. In summertime, the pastor of a neighbouring congregation, preached every week about the prophet Jonah. I remember the devoted atmosphere in the church building that summer. Imagine a church building in a small village, the doors being opened because of the quiet warm summer temperature.
