Abstract

In many ways, as I sit down to write this letter, I do so with a sense of heaviness even while I know I want to write to you about the importance of love, relationship, and community. We are facing so many critical problems—ever-widening income gaps between rich and poor; protracted wars; corporate greed; violence in our cities, schools, and neighborhoods; species loss; climate change; and damage to our oceans, water and soil sources.
