Abstract
In this chapter, we use the lens of visual ethnography to reflect on what we actually saw in, and outside, the classrooms we visited.i Visual ethnography allows the researcher to analyse how the organisation of space, the use of materials, and the teachers’ and learners’ physical and linguistic interactions work together to make meaning. Visual ethnography provides a methodological tool for querying what actually occurs in classrooms.
