Abstract
In the Netherlands, computers have been used in education since 1970.
Two research projects, funded by the Dutch Foundation for Educational Research, provided a major stimulus.
At Leiden University, a project focused on Computer Managed Instruction for primary education and secondary vocational education (Van de Perel, 1979).
