Abstract
In this chapter I provide a brief discussion of the entry of technology as an essential learning area into New Zealand’s core primary school curriculum. I outline the aim of the original 1995 technology curriculum and how this was implemented within the primary sector – that is years 1–8 (approximate age 5–12).
