  • Chapter
Educating Music Teachers for the 21st Century

Part of the book series: Educational Futures : Rethinking Theory And Practice ((EDUFUT,volume 49))

Abstract

The case study reported in this chapter will be divided into three parts. The first is a presentation of a self-assessment study of the teacher education programme in music at Malmö Academy of Music, Sweden. The self-assessment was based on the combined efforts of all teachers, staff and students connected to the program. During a process of half a year quantitative and qualitative information was compiled through document analysis, group work and group focus interviews on how the programme worked. Data were analyzed and discussed among the different groups and the final report was published in the spring of 2007.
