Abstract
It has been said that no actor can act in a vacuum (Stanislavsky, 1925). I believe that the same is true for teaching. Imbedded within the act of teaching is a community of support, a foundation of skills and dispositions that have been fostered by training and previous experiences and an environment shaped by the interactions of teachers and students. How can the theatre play a formative role in educating pre-service educators as they struggle to find their own effective and engaging teaching styles?
