Abstract
Peripheral nerve entrapment is a common clinical disorder. It refers to the sensation or motor dysfunction that occurs when peripheral nerves are squeezed in any part of the body, or refers to the feeling of pain and affected nerve innervation and/or syndromes dominated by muscle dyskinesia caused by mechanical compression when the peripheral nerve passes through some narrow ducts or thickened tendon tissue, such as bone fiber tunnel, zygomatic arch, space-occupying lesion. For patients with initial onset, short duration, mild symptoms, no progressive aggravation or slow progression, conservative treatment is feasible, including rest, brace, physiotherapy, medication, and steroid partial closure. When conservative treatment is invalid, patients with severe symptoms, recurrent episodes and clear space-occupying lesions are suitable for surgical treatment, including neurolysis, nerve transposition, nerve repair, neurotomy, and functional reconstruction surgery.
