Abstract

This chapter offers a deeper understanding of the dynamic interactions between human rights and traditions, cultures, religions, civilizations, value-systems, and world-views, as well as the multidimensionality of human rights (see Kirchschlaeger, Menschen RechtsMagazin 18(2):77–95, 2013a) – political, legal, historical, and moral dimension – needs to be considered. The chapter presents a systematic analysis of the different phases of interaction. It covers the discussion of the main issues, questions, and challenges dominating the relation between human rights and traditions, cultures, religions, civilizations, value-systems, and world-views.
