In today’s world one cannot overestimate the role that virtual space (internet and World Wide Web) plays in daily life. Since the start it has been a place where religious people connect and converse. It became one of the most important information sources for modern life and a medium, not only to absorb and share, but also to generate content. It is a tool with which anyone can absorb, create and share content with virtually anyone anywhere. These developments had huge impact on world religions, whether they ignored or embraced them. I offer a closer look at one particular example, Daʿwah in Cyberspace. I provide an introduction to the concept Daʿwah (German-based), its theological background and its history, contemporary possibilities and applications, and its implications for Islam in general, online and offline. The internet as a research field is discussed with its assets and drawbacks, introducing some of the pioneers with their groundbreaking theories and methodologies, problems and solutions. I expound on a new approach, borrowing methods of systematic content analysis from the media and communication sciences to examine and compare the encountered Cyber-Daʿwah-websites. This chapter, building on my previous research, analyzes changes in the Cyber-Daʿwah-websites and about Islam.
