Abstract
Environmental quality criteria are one of the major bases for establishing environmental quality standards which can reflect the development of environmental technology and environmental management of a country. In China, the rapid economic development has put great pressure on its environment, causing severe environmental pollutions, and a systematic investigation on environmental quality criteria and standards is of strategic significance.
