Abstract
The subjects of my investigation were 894 squinting patients from my practice during the years 1945–50. They came from towns and villages in the provinces of Friesland, Drenthe, Overyssel and Gelderland and were picked out, without any special selection, from among the patients presenting themselves in my consulting room in the normal course of events. The only restriction made was that of age; for the statistical determination of the age of onset, only patients not older than 6 years were included. For the study of the manifestations the youngest patients only were used — up to 3 years of age; the criterion here was: the younger the better.
