Abstract
The discipline of standardization has rapidly developed during the last decades. In the beginning of this century standardization has been recognized as a process capable of improving efficiency, communication and identification. Also, the importance of creating national and international standards began to be realized. Since then, countless product properties have been subject to standardization resulting in the situation that nowadays hardly any product can be found of which none of the properties is standardized.
