Abstract
The A system of pig blood groups, the first factor of which has been first described by Szymanowski, Stetkiewicz and Wachler 1926, remains of particular interest for some of its special features. It is interesting not only serologically, but also from the genetic point of view. The majority of older authors (Kaempffer 1932, Schott 1932, and others) demonstrated the dominant inheritance of the blood factor A. On the other hand, Andersen et al. (1959, Nielsen 1960) found positive offspring from negative parents in their litters. The same observation was made later by Rasmusen (1963) studying at the same time the O factor, which is recessive for the A antigen.
