Abstract

Farm size and tenure reflect labor organization in traditional terms. In the preceding chapters they were discussed as if farms were fully independent entities. Only the inter-change of labor between farms was touched upon. It was mentioned that sometimes very large farms may be organized on localized sub-farms with some, if limited, managerial autonomy; and this case may shade over into that of a complex of sharecropper holdings under unified supervision.
