Abstract

I might refer to three different expressions — birth control, prevention of population explosion and family planning; in essence they mean the same thing. We use them according as to whether we are courageous or timid advocates of the same cause, whether we like to speak sotto voce or shout our faith and our creed from the house tops.

Address at Testimonial Dinner in honor of Mrs. Margaret Sanger, New York, May 11, 1961, marking opening of Conference on the World Population Crisis.
