Abstract

I wish, first of all, to extend to you the cordial greetings of the President and Members of the China Academy of the Republic of China, for it is as their delegate that I find myself among you here in Calcutta. I am going to present to you the important teachings of the remarkable Chinese classic, the I-Ching or Book of Changes, which constitute the less well known aspect of Confucianism and which may throw some light on the world situation to-day.
