Gene Frequency of Blood Groups from Different European Landrace Pigs

  • F. Major
  • H. Dinklage
  • R. Gruhn

Summary

By means of blood group factors, the authors studied the extent to which Danish, Swedish, Czechoslovakian, Russian, Dutch, Hungarian and German Landrace pig populations differed in their genetic make-up. The historical development of the various populations is expressed both in the gene frequency and the similarity index. There is a very close relationship between the Danish, Swedish, Czechoslovakian and Russian Landrace populations and there is also a very close but different relationship between the German, Dutch and Hungarian Landrace populations.
