Summary
The number and frequency of the B-alleles in Polish Red cattle were determined by testing, the breeding flocks of cattle from the southern regions of Poland. 1958 blood samples were tested by using 24 B system test sera during the period 1963–1967.
We succeeded in establishing 141 B-alleles. In the FV-system genetic equilibrium was not found. Because of this the B-alleles frequency is given as a percentage of this total number of B-alleles.
The following alleles exhibit the highest frequencies: I2 (9.11%), b (8.65%), Y2Y′ (3.61%), OxB′E′O′ (7.89%), G2E′G″0′ (7.81%), I′G′G″ (5.98%), Y2 (3.49%), I′ (3.33%).
