Abstract
This publication is based on a collection of rice prices put together a good many years ago designed to give an impression of the changes in the real value of the standard article of exchange in Indonesia (Creutzberg 3*). Since that time it has been possible to amplify this collection with certain new findings. To this has been appended a survey of twentieth century price index figures, including the cost of living. The publication concludes with a study of seasonal fluctuations of rice prices in Java and Madura between 1920 and 1940.
