Abstract
Before other transport means were available man found it tempting to move through the trees like animals aided by hanging rines. Men hunting or being hunted could swing themselves quickly over obstacles by means of these hanging rives which simplified the journey and eased the load. From time in memorial the men of the primeval forest took advantaged of the line technique. Liana and other hanging rines were used as suspension bridges or to transport material and people over difficult terrain.
