Choice Patterns for Tropical Timber, Imported in Seven European Countries

Part of the Forestry Sciences book series (FOSC, volume 3)

The actual consumption of tropical timber in various countries is analysed with a view to determining empirically certain selection criteria. Such criteria may be particular to a country (aesthetic requirements, end-use needs) or generally accepted in all countries. They could facilitate the choice of substitute timbers, for instance for marketing. Additional market information is collected by this exercise, and a model is presented for this type of market research.
