Abstract
The importers’ organizations in Belgium, France, Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom have prepared reports on the market for tropical hardwoods in their respective countries. The fact that they have done so proves that there is no such thing as one European market for tropical hardwoods. In fact, the individual markets are quite different from each other and have their own characteristics. The UCBT members meet on a regular basis to discuss subjects of mutual interest and prepare statements in cases where a UCBT standpoint or opinion is wanted or relevant.
